Award winning blues-rock guitarist Doug Hamblin began
'busking' as a teenager, picking out Mississippi John Hurt and Doc Watson fingerstyle,
country blues and rock n roll in San Francisco. Doug first recorded with the
late Bay Area blues legend Stu Blank and new wave Brit Jo Allen and the Shapes...
After a stint in New Orleans, Doug became a fixture in the Bay Area blues circuit.
Teamed with powerhouse belter Jan Fanucci Doug recorded a critically acclaimed LP
of blues originals that reached Billboard Magazine's Top Ten Radio play lists and
earned them a Bammy Nomination for Blues Artists of the Year. Doug and Jan
toured as a headliner and with blues giants such as Albert King, John Lee Hooker,
Koko Taylor, Dr. John and many others.
Since relocating to Los Angeles performed, written and/or recorded with artists
as diverse and respected as Stephen Stills, Edgar Winter, Southside Johnny Lyon,
Johnny Rivers, Ivan Neville, and since 1993 Bruce Willis and the Accelerators.
Doug was Music Director of the house band for the 4th Annual Blues Foundation
Lifetime Achievement Awards at the House of Blues in LA, backing legends Ruth Brown,
Bobby Bland and Ray Charles.
Doug's playing has been featured onscreen in features HOME ALONE, BRUNO
the KID, THE WHOLE NINE YARDS and ANGEL EYES.
Currently Doug is producing sessions, and is
guitarist with the BRUCE WILLIS BLUES BAND, and tours with Johnny "Secret Agent
Man" Rivers.
